Many
plants and animals have to share their environment with other
living things.
To
survive they need a place where they can give birth to their young
and rear them in safety. A place that provides them with food,
water and shelter.
They
live in a highly competitive environment, with many predators
who would like them for lunch.
In
order to survive they have each developed special features over
thousands of years, to allow them to live in different places
and in different ways.
