Question: I seem to be experiencing difficulties in understanding questions in lessons. What might I do as I will have to face school tests soon? |
|
Answer: Here are some general pointers which have
helped others faced with similar problems and which may help
you. Do you only have this problem with a specific teacher? If so, it may be worth having a quiet word on your own, with the teacher, after the lesson, as the teacher may not be aware of your difficulty and may well appreciate you having brought this up. These things are often better discussed away from the class. You could try checking with other classmates to see whether they are having the same problems. You might be surprised to find that you are not the only one and if this does turn out to be the case they could provide you with some moral support when you approach the teacher. In either case it is always better to be calm and polite when you approach the teacher. It is always better to get them to help you rather than to rub them up the wrong way!! If you do not feel confident enough to approach your teacher about this, it may be helpful to confide in an adult whom you can trust to perhaps approach the teacher on your behalf or to accompany you. If you are having similar problems in a number of subjects, it may be helpful to talk to your form tutor about your worries and concerns. |
