MOLLUSCS

Mollusc is the common name for all soft-bodied invertebrate animals.

It includes snails, slugs, clams and octopus.

Sometimes these soft bodied animals are protected by a shell.

 

ARTHROPODS

Arthropods are invertebrate animals with an external skeleton and jointed limbs.

These include crustaceans, insects and spiders. Some live in water, some live out of water and some fly.

Did you know that arthropods are the largest animal class in the whole world.

There are over 800 000 different types of arthropods in the world and scientists believe there are many more which have not yet been discovered.

There are arthropods scattered all over the world, from the polar regions to the tropics.

The most arthropods in number and variety are in the tropical regions.r

Some common arthropods are: 

 

Flies, beetles, moths, butterflies, bugs, bees,
